November 22-23, 2008
This workshop is part a series of annual presolar grain workshops that began alternating between Clemson University and Washington University, but have expanded to The University of Chicago the Carnegie Institution of Washington, and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics. This year the workshop will be held, all day Saturday November 22nd and half of Sunday November 23rd at The University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) in the Henry Hinds Laboratory for Geophysical Sciences (5734 South Ellis Avenue). We will discuss the latest in presolar grain studies and discoveries and their relation to astrophysical observations and predictions. In keeping with previous workshops, we’d like to leave ample time for discussion.
Speakers and details are listed here.
The meeting will start at 8:30 on Saturday. Dinner at Saturday night is at Andy Davis & Susan Nimori's house in River Forest. We'll provide food and drink for everyone. We need to know how many of you are coming, so please RSVP to me by email at your earliest convenience. We will be providing printed maps at the workshop, and the location is also accessible by mass transit from downtown, as the River Forest Metra station is about a 10-minute walk from our house. The meeting will finish before lunch on Sunday afternoon.
Registration is required, but just to get a head count. There is no registration fee. To register, simply send e-mail to Andy Davis (a-davis@uchicago.edu) with your name and affiliation. Please send a title for your talk by November 8. If we end up with too many talks, we may need to ask a few people to present posters. If you are willing (or prefer) to do a poster, please let us know.
